The 7Skills initiative originated from contacts between Karolina Zmitrowicz, Olivier Denoo and Hans van Loenhoud at the ReQuest 2017 conference in ToruĊ, Poland.
In a late night discussion at the bar, they agreed that even the most professional (hard) techniques are no guarantee for success when developing a new system.
They recognized that soft skills are the true success factors for a team. As they found that no comprehensive framework existed at the time, offering an overview of the relevant soft skills, they decided to develop their own: the 7Skills initiative was born.
